Adidas Wearable Coach prototype promises to help you find the perfect pitch

A gadget that helps with your running or cycling is one thing, but can a device also make you a better pitcher? Designer Sebastiaan Pijnappel thought so, and the Adidas Wearable Coach prototype is his solution -- which, as of yet, is not an actual Adidas product. The idea is a simple but ingenious one; the device plays musical notes that correspond to certain movements, strike just the right ones and you know you've gotten in the zone. What's more, while the device has only been tested with pitchers so far (with some successful results), it's not hard to see how it could also be applied to a whole range of other sports and activities. Head on past the break for a video.

Dr.Naismith necessary some thing to function inside the vitality associated with his or her learners and set all of them inside proper shape while winter got.

He previously several suggestions then again right after knowing exactly how very poor that best suited the actual gyms, he or she chosen to set up the policies initially. The notion of the first engagement ring is really a apple
container that is certainly nailed over a 10-foot raised course. However this kind of apple container didn?t employ a ditch towards the bottom.

That?s the reason why tennis balls have to be manually retrieved once in a whilst anytime the actual golf ball had attack a new score.Nevertheless, this kind of proved to be tedious as well as ineffective regarding proper as well as enjoyment games. Due to this, he or she chosen to stick a hole to the bottom to the golf ball to visit all the way down anytime it can be picture by means of that.

This golf ball which was utilised was the actual football. Anytime the actual golf ball gets to the actual container, a place emerges to the total staff. The team who?s got the most quantity of things benefits.

This kind of container was implemented before 12 months 1906. About that 12 months, many people swapped out the actual container with hoops made of metal as well as supported by backboards. Since this turned out to be

Norway massacre survivors return to scene of crime (AP)

UTVIKA, Norway ? Survivors of a massacre which claimed the lives of 69 people in Norway last month carried flowers to the site of the killings Saturday, laughter blending with tears as they remembered the joys of an island youth camp that turned into a scene of horror.

Stine Renate Haaheim, who survived the shooting spree on Utoya island, said her feelings ranged from emptiness and extreme grief to joy when she returned to the place she had visited each summer for more than 10 years before the July 22 massacre.

"There was an extreme mix of feelings because it was very difficult and we are still in grief, but at the same time I was looking forward to seeing Utoya. I was hoping that in some kind of way it will still be the same island as it used to be," the 27-year-old lawmaker told The Associated Press after returning from Utoya. "For me it was really important, I wanted to go back as soon as possible."

The hardest part, she said, was seeing where her friends died.

"We started going around to all the places where our friends were killed and just taking a minute of silence and trying to remember all the good times we had with them and that was extremely hard, I think it's not possible to explain the feelings," Haaheim said, fighting back tears.

Many who returned to the island lit candles and laid handwritten notes in memory of their friends at the sites where they were shot during the summer camp organized by the youth wing of Norway's Labor Party. They also gathered to sing , just like they used to do on Utoya.

Eskil Pedersen, the leader of the party's youth organization, said his visit to the island with Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and several hundred youth politicians had been "heavy, but fine."

"It was incredibly good to see them (the survivors) smiling again on Utoya," Pedersen told reporters.

Up to 1,000 survivors and relatives traveled to Utoya Saturday, accompanied by police and medical staff, to face the painful memories of the shooting spree by a right-wing extremist. Their visit followed a similar arrangement on Friday, when around 500 relatives of the deceased came to see the sites where they lost their loved ones.

Stoltenberg ? the leader of the Norwegian Labor Party ? said he had wanted to visit "to take part in their mourning and be there for them."

Anders Behring Breivik has admitted killing 77 people on July 22 when he first detonated a truck bomb outside government offices in the capital, Oslo, and then went on a meticulously planned shooting spree on the island, some 25 miles (40 kilometers) away.

The right-wing extremist denies criminal guilt because he believes the massacre was necessary to save Norway and to punish politicians that have embraced multiculturalism.

Haaheim, who escaped Breivik's bullets by hiding near the shore and swimming to a boat, on Saturday revisited the places where she had been on the day of the attack.

"I met up with the boys I was with, we walked together where we ran last time, and we tried to remember what it was like and what we said to each other," she said. "We spoke about what we had been doing ? we actually told some jokes when we were hiding, because we were afraid of people panicking."

On that fateful day, Haaheim said she was inside a building when she saw people panicking and running around outside, so she decided to escape.

Haaheim said she and others found a hiding place near the shore, where they lay low until they heard the sound of bullets getting louder and discovered that a man who was dressed as a policeman was shooting at their friends. They then swam for their lives.

"He actually walked right over our heads," she said. "People were screaming 'the police are here, we are now safe' and then I remember me and my friend we just hugged each other and were extremely happy for maybe a half a second and then I saw him shooting people."

Haaheim said she remembers feelings of fear, chaos and being out of control extremely well, but sometimes feels like she is just describing a "crazy movie."

But, despite the sadness and grief, she said she doesn't feel any hatred.

"We have met bullets with flowers and showed that love is much ... stronger than hate, and speaking for myself revenge is not in my thoughts," Haaheim said. "I want to use my thoughts and my efforts on loving those who are still alive and remembering those who are not with us anymore."

Media were not allowed access to the heavily guarded island where Breivik spent 90 minutes executing the 69 people. Many of the victims were shot in the water as they tried to escape by swimming.

Norway's General Director of Health Bjoern Inge Larsen said he hoped the visits would help survivors and families of the victims come to grips with the deaths.

"The people going there today ... have a lot of anxiety," Larsen said. "They were life-threatened on this island four weeks ago in a very traumatizing manner, so what we are prepared for is to help them to overcome that anxiety."

The operation included 400 health care workers, psychiatrists, police and other officials on the site to help the survivors.

On Sunday, a national memorial service is to be held at Oslo Spektrum arena, marking the end of a month of mourning in the Scandinavian country.

NIH-supported project expands genetic research into clinical setting

CHICAGO --- Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine researchers have received a $762,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to tailor drug treatments to patients' genomic information. The grant, provided to members of the Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) network, is from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), part of the NIH, which supports research by the network's seven institutions and coordinating center.

"This new eMERGE grant is an important step in connecting genomic information to high-quality data in electronic medical records during the clinical care of patients, and Northwestern is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative," says Rex L. Chisholm, vice dean of scientific affairs and graduate education, the Adam and Richard T. Lind Professor of Medical Genetics and a professor in cell and molecular biology at the Center for Genetic Medicine and Surgery at the Feinberg School. "The ultimate goal is to identify the genetic contributions to disease and equip health centers with the information and tools needed to apply genomic knowledge to patient care."

The grant enables investigators to identify genetic variants associated with 40 more disease characteristics and symptoms, using genome-wide association studies across the entire eMERGE network. DNA from about 32,000 participants will be analyzed in each study. Genome-wide association studies represent a powerful approach researchers can use to study hundreds of thousands of genetic variants in people with and without certain health conditions to identify genes that cause or contribute to diseases.

eMERGE researchers will then use the genomic information in clinical care. With patient consent, researchers may use information about genetic variants involved in drug response to adjust patient medications. In addition, eMERGE researchers who discover patients harboring genetic variants associated with diseases such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease will intervene to prevent, diagnose and/or treat such diseases.

The first phase of eMERGE, which wrapped up in July, demonstrated that data about disease characteristics in electronic medical records and patients' genetic information can be used in large genetic studies. So far, the eMERGE network has identified genetic variants associated with dementia, cataracts, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, peripheral arterial disease, white blood cell count, type 2 diabetes and cardiac conduction defects.

The eMERGE network will share its data through the database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGAP) at

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gap.

Are there any debt consolidation companies ... - Finance Talking Hub

I want to work with a debt consolidation company that pays off the debt on your credit report quickly and have you pay them monthly. I do not want a consolidation company that only pays the collectors as you pay them.

There is no such animal.

Debt consolidation companies work this way: you agree to pay them a certain amount each month.

The debt consolidation company splits the amount among your creditors.

The debt consolidation company receives a commission of 10 to 15% of your payment from the creditors.

Your creditors are under no obligation to accept this arrangement from the debt consolidation company. Participation is voluntary.

Your creditors can refuse to work with the debt consolidation company. They can opt to continue to collect from you and subsequently take you to court.

They will only pay your creditors when enough money has been paid in by you to settle debts. They take their fees first. Debt consolidation is a risky move to take?be careful

Stay away from any "debt consolidation" company that promises to cut your debt and payments in half through debt settlement?.this is a risky tactic of deliberately ceasing all payments to creditors and forcing your accounts into default to attempt settlements. you pay a monthly fee to a debt consolidator?.this entire fee goes towards building a settlement account and to the consolidator's fees to ?settle? your accounts in the future. your credit card companies will deliberately not be paid so that all the accounts will default/charge-off so that they can attempt settlements at around 50%. If you are current on your accounts, this process will ruin your credit rating for sure. Debt settlement is like a roll off the dice with your finances?you can never predict how your creditors will respond to the deliberate defaulting of your accounts?they might settle at 50%?or they might serve you a summons, take you to court?and if they win, you could be looking at wage garnishment.

Many people who sign up with ?debt consolidation? firms incorrectly assume that they have the power to force your creditors to accept settlements?they don?t. your creditors have the right to refuse settlements and take you to court.

Listen to CatDad and Infinit ? there really isn't such an Animal as you describe.

I am busy reporting the "Nigerian fake loan" spammer?.

You want a consolidation loan ? you take out a big loan that pays off all your debt and then you make payments on that loan. this will only work if you are disciplined enough to not run the credit cards back up.

It also depends on whether your credit is good enough for a unsecured loan large enough to pay off the other debts. It it harder to get large unsecured personal loans. you have to have good credit to qualify.

Jill Zarin Not Leaving Real Housewives of NYC

Jill Zarin isn't going anywhere! Recent reports by the New York Post said that the Real Housewives of New York City star was not going to return for season five of the show. But Zarin says we will, in fact, see plenty more of her in the future.

"The rumors about Bravo dropping me from The Real Housewives of New York City as well as rumors that I am leaving the show are simply not true," Zarin, 48, told UsMagazine.com Monday.

"Everything that has been reported is simply rumors, gossip and speculation," she added. "I personally have been busy with my shapewear line, Skweez Couture and am still very much part of the Bravo family."

We tend to believe Zarin, considering she was named as one of the women who will be appearing on the three-city Real Housewives tour that just announced by Bravo. She's set to appear with Atlanta's NeNe Leakes, N.J.'s Melissa Gorga and Miami's Marysol Patton in Atlanta, Ga., on Oct. 15.

The Closer Review: "Home Improvement" - TV Fanatic

On The Closer this week, Brenda finally got herself a lawyer at the suggestion of Raydor, and when she heard his retainer was $25,000 her entire attitude went to the birds.

Elsewhere, the beating death with a ball peen hammer of a registered sex offender resulted in one of the most violent looking autopsies I've ever seen on the show. The case and Brenda's attitude made for a heck of a ride.

Great Brenda Reaction

Even though the case was less than savory, I was laughing throughout the hour. Admittedly, I'm iffy on rape when both parties are still in their teens, so I wasn't as appalled at the mixture of crime and humor like I was in the recent past.

There was little chance the neighbor's daughter would have been hurt, as she had been duly prepared to scream like a banshee and blow a rape whistle should the guy have come near her. The little spitfire demonstrated both of these little tidbits with gusto. Nobody was going to get their hands on her!?

They got more laughter out of me when Brenda informed Fritz she cut out their little luxuries like, oh, their phone service and those extra cable channels they never watch (hello, ESPN!) so they could afford her attorney.

I had never noticed their kitchen before, but it was full of old fashioned appliances and Brenda cooking in her lace blouse really made her look like a 1940s housewife. She looked fully prepared to jump through the centuries for a little sacrifice.

Mark Pelligrino, most - recently seen on shows like Lost,?Supernatural and Being Human - offered up a role of a completely different kind as Brenda's outlandish attorney. Not only was his character eccentric, but some of the suspects came off like C movie thespians from a Cinemax production.

Watching the Missus and her artificial breasts attempt to lift a three-foot cement garden gnome off the ground was particularly effective... in making them look like idiots.

Introducing us to Brenda's new attorney, having her and Fritz squabbling like an old married couple, and the valley girl knockoffs whodunit provided a nice respite from the intensity that has intermittently plagued us as the series winds down.

Not too cold and not too hot,?"Home Improvement" was just right.
